Frances Yeo B.Soc. Sc. (Aust) MA (Aust) MAPS MSPS Member of Australian Psychological Society Member of Singapore Psychological Society Registered Psychologist (Singapore)
Frances Yeo is a psychologist with more than 16 years of experience with adults, children and teenagers. She graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor degree and a Master degree in Psychology from the University of Sydney.
She has worked in Singapore Prisons Service and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). As the Principal Psychologist, she attended to women with perinatal anxiety, depressive disorders, and provided counselling for cancer and chronic pain patients. Frances further provided assessments and interventions for children with learning difficulties, emotional problems, autism, ADHD, and developmental delays. She was also instrumental in setting up and developing the Psychology Service at KKH.
After close to 8 years at KKH, Frances joined private practice and established a therapy centre for a private medical healthcare group. At The Child Development Centre, Frances developed the centre from being the only clinician to a team of multi-disciplinary professionals comprising psychologists, speech and occupational therapists, and special needs teachers.
With more than 18 years of experience, Frances is experienced in helping children, teenagers and adults experiencing inter-personal conflict, behavioural and emotional problems, depression and anxiety, learning difficulties and attention deficit hyperactive disorders and autism. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and narrative therapy. She is also a full member with the Australian Psychological Society, Singapore Psychological Society and a Registered Psychologist on the Singapore Register of Psychologists.
Frances has contributed extensively to the development of psychology in Singapore. Apart from her clinical work, she has contributed to numerous newspaper, magazine articles and conducted talks about psychological wellness and parenting.
